If the crisis worker or doctor feels the patient meets criteria to go to a psychiatric hospital, then they go. Disputes can sometimes occur in those cases where the initial 72 hours has expired, the patient continues to meet 5150 criteria but has not received treatment at a designated psychiatric facility and the decision to stack the hold or safety plan may be required. In the occasional situation where there are conflicts over issues, the On-Call supervisor is called to resolve the dispute, generally that is Behavioral Health Clinical Services Manager. |
