Metaproterenol Sulfate Protocol

Class:- Sympathomimetic bronchodilator.
Therapeutic Effects:- Relaxes smooth muscles of the bronchial tree and relaxes peripheral vasculature by stimulating á2- adrenergic receptors.
- Decreases reversible bronchospasm.
Indications:- Acute bronchial asthma.
- Bronchospasm associated with bronchitis and emphysema.
Contraindications:- Absolute: Hypersensitivity.
- Relative:
- Hypertension.
- Coronary artery disease.
- Congestive heart failure.
- Convulsive disorder.
- Hyperthyroidism.
- Diabetes.
- Pregnancy.
Adverse Effects:- Most frequent adverse effects include nervousness, tachycardia, tremors, and nausea.
- Less frequent effects include hypertension, palpitations, vomiting, and bad taste.

Special Information:- Medication doses can be modified only by Base Order.
- Treatments can be repeated as needed.
